Poster Session Information/Submission

Poster Session

Submit your poster presentation on promising practices, innovative projects and research relevant to the theme and/or innovation in rural health. This is a fantastic opportunity for students, professionals and rural organizations!


All submissions will undergo a competitive review process. Not all submissions will be chosen to present. Evaluation criteria includes: 


♦  Topic(s) address current policy and priorities for rural health

♦  Clarity of the presentation’s purpose and goals 

♦  Relevance of the topic to the conference audience and themes:

Posters must include a concise title and clearly list primary presenter and co-authors.

IF YOUR SUBMISSION IS ACCEPTED FOR PRESENTATION, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING

  • Primary author must present at the conference in-person.
    • Wednesday, March 11 from 3:30pm - 5:30pm
  • Additional authors may co-present in-person, but are not required to attend the conference. 
  • Presenter(s) are responsible to print and bring their own poster and supporting materials.
  • Authors will be notified by
    January 31
    of their status (ACCEPTED or DECLINED). 

We regret that a limited number of presentation slots are available. 

To be considered, poster presentation submissions must include all the information requested in the online form. 

  • This form will collect:
  • Primary Author/Presenter information
  • Co-Authors (if any) names, titles, organizations, and email addresses
  • Poster Title
  • Description: What is the main topic and what is the purpose and goal of this presentation?
  • Target Audience and Relevance: Who will find this topic of interest (i.e. presentation audience, population researched, highlighted, or served through a project)? How is it relevant to the conference attendees or theme?


TIPS & GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS

  • Poster size should be 36" x 24" landscape orientation
  • Clarity and brevity are crucial; save details for discussion
  • Use at least 18-point font, and use bold lettering for headings (not underlined), Sans Serif font
  • Include your title and name
  • Left-justify text within text boxes
  • All images/photos should be clear and captioned
  • Poster should be readable from 3-6 feet away; be mindful of color contrast
  • Consider the flow of information on your poster, visual balance of graphics, and avoid too much white space

Note: Posters will need to be mounted on freestanding poster foam board; they will be displayed on easels during the poster session.  Tables or stands for handouts are not available.

All submissions will undergo a review process. Not all submissions will be chosen to present. 

SUBMISSIONS WILL BE EVALUATED BY THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA

  • Does the topic address current policy and priorities for rural health? (rated 0-3)
  • Does the description provide clear purpose and goals for the presentation? (rated 0-3)
  • Is the topic relevant to multiple conference audiences and themes? Or if targeted, is the specific audience named? (rated 0-3)
  • An extra point is awarded for student applicants.
